an aerial view of an urban area with a complex overpass system. Multiple lanes of traffic on the overpass intersect at various points, with cars visible on the roads. Below the overpass, there are train tracks with several blue train cars stationed along them. The area surrounding the overpass and train tracks appears densely packed with buildings of varying sizes, shapes, and colors, indicative of a crowded city environment.

Do you feel more alive when you're in a city? If so, that is likely because cities are not only home to over half the world's population but also vibrant hubs for creativity, innovation, diversity, and opportunity. And, they're where some of humanity's most "wicked" and entrenched problems are experienced. The Good City, a new podcast from the Cornell Mui Ho Center for Cities, explores actions we can take across scales and geographies to address urban climate challenges and, ultimately, create the cities we all want and need.

The Good City features interviews with guests from around the globe, including Cornell faculty and alumni, civil society partners, community members, urban practitioners, and policymakers. Recent episodes include "Traffic," with Associate Professor of City and Regional Planning Nicholas Klein and Senior Urban Planner Anshul Mishra (M.R.P. '21); and "Deconstruction," with Felix Heisel, Assistant Professor of Architecture and Director of the Circular Construction Lab at Cornell and Andrew Boghossian (B.Arch. '23), Deconstruction Coordinator at Finger Lakes ReUse in Ithaca, NY.

The Cornell Mui Ho Center for Cities is situated within the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning at Cornell University and brings together experts, students, and communities from across disciplines to exchange knowledge and ideas that catalyze change and help build more resilient, equitable cities.

Episodes of The Good City are available on Spotify, SoundCloud, and the Center for Cities website. If there's a particular urban issue you would love to learn more about, email centerforcities@cornell.edu with your suggestions for future episodes.
